How this due date is calculated
Enter your estimated due date. The calculator shows how many weeks and days you are today, the dates of each trimester, and the days remaining until your due date.
Counting backwards from a due date is the reverse of Naegele’s rule. The 280-day anchor is fixed, so today’s position in the timeline is pure subtraction: due date minus today, expressed as weeks and days. The trimester boundaries are fixed week marks (end of week 13, end of week 27), so they fall on the same calendar dates for everyone regardless of how the due date was originally calculated.
What to expect
"How far along" means how much of the pregnancy has passed. It is usually expressed as weeks and days, counted from the first day of your last period. This tool takes your due date and works backwards to find today's place in the 40-week timeline.
The result shows your current week and day (for example, "18 weeks 3 days"), the date range of each trimester, and the number of days left until your due date. The three pieces together give a full picture of where you are and what is coming next.
Trimesters split the pregnancy into three roughly equal stages: the first ends around the close of week 13, the second around the close of week 27, and the third runs to birth. Exact boundaries vary slightly by source, but the ranges shown above follow the common obstetric split.
